Welcome!

UpTown is an up-and-coming urban neighborhood conveniently located between Toledo's historic Old West End and the Toledo Museum of Art complex and the Central Business District. The neighborhood's history is one of transition, first as a residential area for Toledo's wealthy and then as a commercial district to supplement businesses in the growing downtown.

In the last 20 years, UpTown has experienced many positive changes. The UpTown Association was formed in 1987 to help foster area improvement. Many decaying buildings have been renovated for commercial use and several new business and residential projects have been completed. Street improvements along the Adams Street and Monroe Street corridors have further enhanced the area.

In 2005, UpTown was designated an Arts and Entertainment district by the City of Toledo. Several long-standing as well as new restaurant and entertainment venues keep UpTown vibrant and a popular Toledo destination.
